Holography Without Photography

چکیده
I detail a method for producing high quality Fourier transform holograms using a computer, laser printer, and overhead transparency film. The method should be useful for lecture demonstration and holography laboratories. Given an arbitrary holographic phase/amplitude plate, computer-generated holography attempts to find a suitable binary encoding of the (complex) transmission function of the hologram. Several solutions to this problem have been described in this journal with applications to physics laboratories[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. The instructional use of computer generated holograms has the potential to enhance students’ understanding of the holographic reconstruction process. In previous work, poor resolution of available computer output devices required the holograms to be photographically reduced for use in a laboratory optical system. Photographic processing limits the rate at which holograms can be produced to a few

The Compressive Optical MONTAGE Photography Initiative (COMP-I) is an initiative under DARPA’s MONTAGE program. The goals of COMP-I are to produce 1 mm thick visible imaging systems and 5 mm thick IR systems without compromising pixel-limited resolution. Innovations of COMP-I include focal-plane coding, block-wise focal plane codes, birefringent, holographic and 3D optical elements for focal pl...

Speckle photography is becoming an important method for deformation, displacement and tilt measurements. The technique will be even more attractive to the engineer when its application is in real time. Therefore, the developing process of speckle photography and the subsequent optical Fourier transformation of the photographs will be replaced. Bismuth silicon oxyde Bil2SiO20. has electrical and...
متن کاملHolographic Pyramid Using Integral Photography
The simple aerial display system called holographic pyramid has been eliciting much attention recently. However, the image that appears to be floating in the pyramid has no depth information because it is merely a virtual image of a 2D image displayed on a flat-panel display and reflected at the surface of a transparent board of the pyramid. Therefore, we propose a new holographic pyramid syste...
متن کاملComparison of three-dimensional particle tracking and sizing using plenoptic imaging and digital in-line holography.
Digital in-line holography (DIH) and plenoptic photography are two techniques for single-shot, volumetric measurement of 3D particle fields. Here we present a comparison of the two methods by applying plenoptic imaging to experimental configurations that have been previously investigated with DIH. These experiments include the tracking of secondary droplets from the impact of a water drop on a ...
